TFL&AFL Calc
In medical billing, timely filing is very important. If we know the timely filing limit, we have to confirm whether our claim is within it, when the timely filing is going to exceed, or if our claim is already out of the timely filing limit.
This calculator gives you the last date of timely filing (TFL) and the first day after timely filing (AFL), and confirms whether a claim is still within the limit or the timely filing has already been exceeded.

How to use
- In the first box, enter the DOS (Date of Service).
- In the second box, enter the TFL (Timely Filing Limit) of the insurance in days.
- The third box is a dropdown with two options. Select “TFL Last Day” to check the last day of the timely filing limit, or “AFL First Day” to check the day filing exceeds.
- Click ENTER to see the results. The first output box shows the date, and the second shows the difference in days from today.
